Dates and contents

Academic year 2009/2010

During the October 2009 - June 2010 academic year, the University of Cantabria Language Centre will be offering intensive courses, with 2 hours of academic tuition per day, and one extensive course with two 2-hour sessions per week.

Timetable depending on the level	14:00 / 16:00
	16:00 / 18:00

These courses will be given at 2 or 3 levels: beginners' (except for April), intermediate and advanced, and will take place on the following dates:

60-hour intensive courses:

Intensive 1: 5 October - 13 November 2009

Intensive 2: 15 February - 26 March 2010

40-hour intensive course:

Intensive 3: 12 April - 7 May 2010

30-hour extensive course:

Extensive: 16 / 17 November 2009 - 27 / 28 January 2010

The two higher levels of the Intensive 1 and 3 courses will be partially orientated towards preparing students to sit the examination for the Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE).

Spanish Courses in Autumn 2009 or Spring 2010

The University of Cantabria Language Centre organises for Oregon State University (OSU) Spanish courses at preintermediate and intermediate levels and students may join these groups if they so wish. The course consists of 4 hours of class daily from Monday to Thursday (160 hours), divided up in the following way:

9:30/11:15	Spanish language (70 h.)
11:45/12:30	Practice of oral skills (30 h.)
12:30/13:30	Spanish Culture (60 h.)

N.B.: This timetable may undergo changes

This course can be taken on the following dates:

Autumn: 28 September - 4 December 2009

Spring: 29 March - 3 June 2010

Those students interested in joining this programme are not obliged, if they do not so wish, to attend the 'culture' class or to remain in the programme until the end.

Summer 2010

The courses in Spanish as a Foreign Language are in 4-week cycles, with 80 hours of academic tuition being given on a 4 hours per day basis, from Monday to Friday. Please ask us about the possibility of courses of other lengths.

The structure of a cycle is as follows:

12:50/13:50	Vocabulary Enlargement		Spanish culture or Business Spanish

Those students in the intermediate, advanced and higher levels must choose one of the optional subjects indicated on the chart for the fourth hour of class.

The dates of the different cycles are the following:

1st cycle: 5 - 30 July 2010

2nd cycle: 2 - 27 August 2010

Groups that do not have at least 5 students enrolled may be closed.

September 2010

From 31 August to 14 September the Centre organises a 60-hour intensive course which, although mainly for Erasmus students, is open to anyone wishing to enrol.

The classes take place in the mornings and in the afternoons and are as follows:
